Ultimate Guide in Panglao Island Tours

Panglao Island is located in Bohol Province. This island is a famous tourist destination for its white sand beaches and world class diving sites. 


HOW TO GET TO PANGLAO? 

- Panglao Island can be reach by land, air and sea travel. 


Manila to Panglao Island - From the capital city of the Philippines, you can book a direct flight going to Panglao Island International Airport. 

Oslob to Panglao Island - From Oslob, Cebu, you can ride a boat directly to Panglao Island. 

Tagbilaran City to Panglao Island - From the capital city of Bohol, you can ride a tricycle or a bus going to Panglao. The fare depends on the mode of transportation, how heavy your baggage is and how far your hotel from Tagbilaran. But you can always hassle!


WHERE TO GO IN PANGLAO ISLAND? 

Panglao Island has a lot to offer, from the beaches, the people, the food, caves, anything! But for your guide, I made a list on where and what to do in this Most Beautiful Island of Panglao. |


1. Alona Beach
 - Your Bohol vacation is not complete if you haven't been to Alona Beach. This World's Famous Beach is located in the southwest tip of the Island. Situated just 2 miles from the Airport. This beach is .62 miles of fine sands with restaurants and resorts facing the beach. This is a public beach, so entrance fee is not applicable.

2. Panglao Church and Watchtower
- St Augustine Church and the watchtower was just standing beside each other. The Church is known for its ceiling murals depicting the sacraments. The Watchtower was built in 1851. The 5-storey hexagonal tower is reputedly the tallest kind in the Philippines. You can visit here any time of the year. There is also no entrance fee, but a donation is highly appreciated.

  3. Nova Shell Museum 
- This privately owned shell museum boasts an amazing collection of seashells that come from different parts of the world, not just in the Philippines. You can also see the smallest shell in the world here! This is located in PoblaciĆ³n Proper. Operating Hours starts at 8AM until 5PM. With an entrance fee of 120 pesos for adult and 50 pesos for kids.

 4. Dauis Church 
- Also known as the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption. It showcases neo-gothic and neo-classical architecture. The watch and bell tower were made of corals. Visiting hours in the church is 6:30AM until 6:00PM. This church was also named a National Historical Landmark by the National Historical Commision.

5.  Hinagdanan Cave
- This amazing cave is one of many wondrous caves in Bohol. This is a Karst cave which means it is made of limestones with several stalagmite and stalactite formation parallel to each other and a freshwater lagoon that is about 10-12 meters deep. It is located in Bingag, Dauis. Entrance fee to the cave is 50 pesos and 100 pesos for swimming the lagoon.

6. Napaling Reef 
- This reef stretches hundreds of meters of beautiful reefs. The famous Sardine Run is also found here. The reef is located in Tangnan, Panglao. You can find many diving schools in the area, or you can ask your chosen travel agency to include this in the tour package.

7. Virgin Island 
- Also known as Pungtud or Pontod Island is probably the most iconic travel destination in Bohol. It is a long stretch of sandbar that curls and fades into the sea. The shape is mostly depicted by a Tadpole. This tourist destination is often included in the travel itinerary for the Travel Agencies but if you are a DIY traveler, you can come to Panglao Tourism Office, and they are more than happy to assist you.

8. Balicasag Island 
- If swimming with the sea turtles or fishes is your ultimate dream, pretty sure you will like this place. This beautiful island has an amazing white sand beach and wonderful coral reefs in a shallow and deep waters. It also offers various activities to the tourist like snorkeling, diving, island hopping and dolphin watching.
